Chicago Scenic Projections
Overall, projections bring a cinematic element to the theatrical medium. By enhancing theatrical productions in these ways, scenic projections create a more engaging theatre-going experience for audiences of all ages, allowing them to be absorbed in a truly stunning delivery.
A newspaper theme runs throughout our projections of the flapper-era musical “Chicago.” The scenic design is a mix of news stories and headlines, complemented by dramatic lighting and vintage 1920s architecture. The emotions of the characters – cold, hot and intense – are alive in the scenery.
Backgrounds morph into different scenes and settings throughout the play. Projections interact with the song lyrics as colors change and the scenic design captures the dramatic energy the vicious story provides.
Projections for this show are best used as a backdrop replacement with props downstage. A combination of steel platforms, stairs and our steamy projections create the rawness and grit the story of “Chicago” deserves.
